About Marieke

Marieke in office

Hi, thank you for visiting my web site! My name is Marieke van Donkersgoed. I am a Dutch native, living in the US since 2001. I live and work in Washburn Wisconsin. I am married and blessed with a beautiful son.

My life has always been full of changes, challenges, and adventures! From my early days on, I have lived on three continents, with many travels, many moves, and consequently, many losses.

Growing up with four brothers made me a tomboy in many ways, but I also loved playing and caring for my many dolls and stuffed animals. Tucking them in, making sure they were comfortable and safe, was one of my favorite things to do. It still is, but no longer with toys!

My whole adult life I have been intrigued by “what makes people tick, and why?” I have a genuine interest in and an eagerness to understand my fellow humans. I have worked in many industries, on various continents, all leading up to finding my passion in serving people in the most delicate times of life: when dealing with dying, death, and grief.

The two most profound experiences of my life were the pregnancy and birth of my son in my early thirties, and taking care of my terminally ill mother and her death in my early fifties. Not only did these events help me truly understand LIFE in the bigger picture, they were the times that I felt completely on purpose. I am blessed with the gifts to nurture and to comfort. These gifts are the fuel for my work, which I passionately love!

It brings me joy to help you find light in your very intimate and possibly intense experiences. I offer deep connection and companionship on your journey. I will be present when needed. It is all about you.
